Portrait or Personal Image - Cora Miller

Cora's passion for photography began in 2002 and was born from a desire within her heart to share her vision of the limitless beauty of God's creation. From the intricate details of a tiny snowflake to the grandeur of a sweeping mountain vista she believes there is so much God has given us to enjoy and to appreciate.

While many of the images shown in this gallery are factual representations, Cora's style is developing into one of suggestion rather than description. She enjoys using selective focus and employing camera movement techniques to convey an impression of the moment as well as abstracting elements from a scene to remove the context and engage the imagination. She also strives to create a sense of peace within each image to counter the distractions of everyday life.

Cora's training in photography has included instruction from John Sharp, William Neill, Brenda Tharp, Jim Zuckerman, and John and Barbara Gerlach, as well as studying the work of many other photographers, books, magazines, and critiques.

Several of Cora's images have won awards in BetterPhoto's international contest and others have been exhibited in various art galleries throughout Texas.
